Dolomite Camp is the latest addition to the Namibia Wildlife Eco-Collection of camps and is situated in the western section of the Etosha National Park.
Other camps in the collection are Onkoshi Camp, also in Etosha, and Sossus Dune Lodge near Sossusvlei. This brand new premier camp is built on a dolomite outcrop providing marvelous views across the plains to the north and rolling hills to the south.
The beautifully decorated chalets, named after the trees found on the outcrop are scattered all around the hill, each with it's own unique view of the surrounding landscape and completely private. The chalets are spacious, feature wooden floors throughout and have big comfy beds. There is a sleeper couch that can be folded out to accommodate children. Big doors open to the outside balcony allowing you to feel part of nature. The theme is Africa combined with European style. Pathways link them to the spacious main building on the point of the hill, which has the best views of all.
The main building is open plan with intimate seating areas, the dining room and the bar.
Activitie at Dolomite Camp include game drives in the morning, late afternoon and at night allowing guests to see parts of Etosha that no other visitors to the park can enter.
Apart from the normal Etosha game viewing a special attraction of the Otjiovasondo area is the opportunity to see both the Plains Zebra and the Mountain Zebra drinking or grazing side by side and spotting the rare Sable Antelope.
Guests who book at Dolomite Camp have automatic entrance to the previously restricted western Etosha from both the Okaukuejo side as well as the Otjiovasondo side through the Galton Gate. The Galton Gate and the western Etosha entrance at Ozonjuiti m'Bari will only be open to guests that are staying at Dolomite Camp and not to the general public.
